Ancient Indian facts
Ancient India was far richer in every aspect than it is right now. Intellectually, financially, scientifically and geographically India was bigger, broader and richer than any of the countries of the world. Before getting into the deep let’s look at some incredible facts about India.

War and invade
  • The first thing that you should all know about India is that this country was always fought in the defence. India was powerful back then but never attacked any country or invaded another country. All the fights India fought was the defence mechanism by India. 
  • You can check the history of 9000 years India never invaded any nearby country for fulfillment. 



Numbers and years
  • Takshila was the first university of the world. It was established in 700 BC. more than 10000 students from all over the world studied there. 60 subjects were introduced in the Taxila university including ‘Ayurveda’ (The ancient medical science of India).   
  • Number system which we use right now in maths, science, computers and in every subject were invented in India. Decimal was also invented in India. You know the amazing thing about the decimal system is that it was invented in 100 BC.  


  • You can figure it out by the calendar of “Hindu” month, it was older than any other calendars. A lunar year of ‘Hindu’calender consist of 12 months and a month comprises of two fortnights. These two fortnights known as ‘Amavasya’ and ‘Purnima’
  • Trigonometry, algebra and calculus were firstly used and invented by the Indian scholars.
  • Sridharacharya invented quadratic equations in  the 11th century. 
  • Romans and greek scholars were using the largest numbers ten to the power six (10^6) with the correct name. On the other side Indian scholars used numbers as big as ten to the power fifty three (10^53) with exact names to it.        



Cultural facts
Sindhu valley cultural civilization was the first colonisation or civilisation establishment in world history. It was more than 5000 years ago, and it was proven by modern geological surveys. The culture was known as ‘Harappan’ culture of Indus valley civilization. Other parts of the world were totally dependent on the forest and were living under the woods and caves. 



Linguistic facts
“Sanskrit” is the mother of all languages.
